How Otilie picks products
Ranked only by how well they fit you
Each product's ingredient list is checked against what you told Otilie and against your routine:
- your goals, your skin type, how your skin reacts to new products, and the ingredients you avoid;
- the products already in your routine, so it doesn't suggest something that does the same job or doesn't go well with what you use.
Products are shown in order of that fit, best first. Your face scans, your photos and your scan results are never used to choose or order products to buy.
When we don't know a product's ingredients, we don't score it.
How we're paid
Some links to stores are affiliate links: if you buy, the store may pay us a commission. That never changes which products we show or their order, and no one pays to be shown. The part of the app that ranks products never sees commission information.
The order is the same whether or not a store pays us.
Prices and stores
- Prices come from the store and show the date they were checked. The price at the store's checkout is the one you pay.
- "Buy" opens the store's own website or app. Your purchase, delivery and returns are with the store.
Your privacy
- Store links carry no personal information: not your name, your skin details or your goals. The store only sees that you came from Otilie.
- Once you're on the store's site, its own privacy policy and cookies apply.
Where ingredient lists come from
From Open Beauty Facts (Open Database License) and from product labels. If an ingredient list is wrong, tell us at hello@otilie.app.
